In a conversation with TOI, J&K governor Satya Pal Malik said that he feels "satisfied and thankful to the people of J&K after the Friday prayers and Eid." When asked about Amit Shah unfurling the flag at Lal Chowk, Malik said, "Lal Chowk is not Lal Qila, it is a place with its own sanctity...we can’t make a political statement by unfurling the flag there."
